Gli sforzi adesso cominciano a ridursi, c’è solo bisogno di forza di volontà. Siamo a metà del nostro percorso per diventare veramente ecologici, e già con i passati consigli abbiamo fatto dei passi da gigante. Per quanto riguarda il quinto passo siamo sulla buona strada, perchè è già preso in considerazione in Italia, e non solo, e un pò tutti ci stiamo adeguando. Stiamo parlando delle 3 R: Ridurre, riusare, riciclare.
Il fenomeno di Napoli ci ha spaventato un pò tutti. Non vogliamo più vedere rifiuti in mezzo ad una strada, e ora il riciclaggio ha preso piede anche lì dove questa parola era solo un termine su un vocabolario. Ma dobbiamo partire dal presupposto che noi siamo in debito con la natura, cioè utilizziamo più risorse di quelle che ci mette a disposizione. Per questo si creano il buco nell’ozono e altri fenomeni simili, perchè stiamo terminando il nostro budget. Per recuperare, è il caso prima di tutto di ridurre i consumi. Prima di tutto non c’è bisogno di acquistare tonnellate di vestiti, basta riutilizzare gli stessi per più tempo; non c’è bisogno di mangiare fino a scoppiare, o magari gettare cibo buono, basta ridurre le quantità; quando siamo proprio costretti a fare a meno di qualcosa, almeno cerchiamo di riciclarla (giusto un esempio: riciclare l’alluminio comporta un utilizzo per la lavorazione del 5% inferiore a quello utilizzato su una barra di alluminio vergine). Solo così le risorse naturali potranno raggiungere il pareggio con il consumo, e potremo garantire un futuro al nostro pianeta.
