Tartarughe in via d’estinzione, foto e immagini dedicate a 9 esemplari considerati dall’IUCN come a rischio critico di estinzione, dall’Astrochelys radiata alla Lepidochelys Kempii.
Le tartarughe sono animali molto amati, animali che sono impressi fortemente nell’immaginario collettivo di adulti come bambini. Purtroppo delle 207 specie di tartarughe oggi viventi, l’IUCN ha classificato come vulnerabili, minacciate o criticamente minacciate ben 129 di esse, ovvero il 62% del totale di specie di tartarughe attualmente viventi sul pianeta. Ecco una galleria di foto e immagini dedicate alle tartarughe in via d’estinzione: le 9 riportate qui in basso sono tutte a rischio di estinzione critico.
La prima foto della nostra gallery è dedicata alla tartaruga Astrochelys radiata, originaria e attualmente vivente nel sud del Madagascar. Si pensi che se non minacciata questa tartaruga vive ben oltre 100 anni, e che uno degli esemplari di questa specie si è stimato abbia vissuto 188 anni. La seconda immagine è dedicata alla tartaruga Batagur borneoensis, che si trova attualmente in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia e Thailandia. Il suo tasso di estinzione è molto rapido.
La terza foto rappresenta una Astrochelys yniphora, una tartaruga che ora si stimi contare solo 200 esemplari adulti rimasti in natura. La quarta foto è dedicata a un Lepidochelys kempii, la più rara tra le tartarughe di mare, che si si può trovare nell’Oceano Atlantico, lungo la costa Est degli States fino al Golfo del Messico. Nella quinta foto vediamo una tartaruga Sievenrockiella leytensis, che per alcuni anni si è temuto fosse estinta completamente. La sesta immagine rappresenta una Sternotherus depressus, una tartaruga ormai rimasta solo nell’Alabama. La settima foto è dedicata a una tartaruga Cuora aurocapitata, nativa della Cina centrale e fra le più minacciate al mondo, con meno di 150 esemplari rimanenti.
Nell’ottava immagine vediamo una tartaruga Cuora galvinifrons, che vive nel sud est dell’Asia ad alte altitudini, e infine nella nona foto troviamo una Cuora Mccordi, specie nativa della Cina e tra le più minacciate della nazione.
