In occasione della Settimana Europea per l’Energia Sostenibile, dal 18 al 22 giugno 2012, anche l’Italia tira un po’ le somme di come le fonti rinnovabili sono viste e impiegate da industrie, imprese e liberi cittadini. Se da un lato la crisi finanziaria sta mettendo in ginocchio la nostra economia, l’uso dell’energia sostenibile offre un potenziale di efficienza energetica e di recupero economico, non sfruttato a pieno.
Per un rapporto dettagliato sull’energia sostenibile e sui proventi economici da essa ottenuti, molto esaustivo è il dossier “Protezione del clima con rapido recupero economico” pubblicato da Ecofys ed Eiif, in cui vengono delineati gli scenari connessi al risparmio energetico e alla riduzione di CO2 con l’uso di isolamenti termici industriali. Il potenziale recupero energetico ed economico non è pienamente sfruttato, con danni al clima e all’economia. Come spiega il direttore scientifico di Ecofys, Kornelis Blok
Sempliemente attraverso una migliore manutenzione ed un congruo isolamento termico delle applicazioni industriali, potrebbero essere raggiunti circa i due terzi del potenziale di risparmio in energia ed emissioni. E poiché gli investimenti in isolamento termico vengono di solito recuperati in meno di un anno, questa è una grande opportunità di business.
La coibentazione industriale potrebbe sostenere l’industria europea a ridurre le emissioni di gas climalteranti e il consumo di combustibili, favorendo il raggiungimento degli obiettivi energetici previsti dall’Europa per il 2020. Dallo studio si evince che almeno il 10% delle componenti di impianto nell’industria non è termicamente isolato, è rivestito con coibentazione danneggiata, o non si è investito a sufficienza sul livello di isolamento. Questo vuol dire che il risparmio energetico, ed economico, non è considerato o ritenuto valido. Eppure, come afferma il direttore della Fondazione Eiif, Andreas Gurtler
In passato, quando i prezzi dei carburanti erano inferiori, una coibentazione energeticamente efficiente non avrebbe condotto a grandi differenze. Ma oggi, oltre alla necessità di raggiungere gli obiettivi 20-20-20 dell’Unione europea, il prezzo dell’energia è maggiore e si prevede in ulteriore aumento. Come risultato abbiamo riscontrato una crescita el gap fra i livelli di isolamento termico attuali e quelli economicamente convenienti.
