Rifiuti a Napoli, non si arresta l’emergenza che ormai più emergenza non è bensì monnezza quotidiana, tanto che c’è chi, con un sarcasmo amaro, ci scherza su e azzarda persino le previsioni della spazzatura per il giorno, per allertare su quei cumuli maleodoranti che minacciano più aree della città con il loro lezzo tempestoso.
Intanto si torna a parlare di una vecchia emergenza rifiuti, quella del 2007/2008 sulla quale era stata aperta un’indagine chiusa a novembre 2010. E’ notizia di queste ore, trapelata da fonti giudiziarie, che la Procura avrebbe chiesto il rinvio a giudizio per 30 persone, accusate di epidemia colposa.
Spiccano tra gli imputati tre big della scena politica campana: l’ex governatore della Campania, Antonio Bassolino, l’ex prefetto di Napoli Alessandro Pansa e il sindaco di Napoli Rosa Russo Iervolino.
Dei rischi per la salute dei rifiuti accumulati in strada, e dei roghi che spesso si creano, si è parlato spesso. Nello specifico, questa indagine ha accertato che la permanenza per tanto tempo della spazzatura per le strade della città sarebbe stata la causa di un’epidemia gastroenterica sul territorio. La Iervolino si dichiara perplessa ma serena:
Mi sembra strano parlare di epidemia, perché ci sono le dichiarazioni del ministro della Sanità e degli enti preposti, come la Asl, che affermano non esserci stata epidemia.
Eppure, tre periti nominati dal pm hanno accertato che, nel periodo compreso tra il primo novembre 2007 ed il 15 gennaio 2008, si registrò un picco di malattie gastroenteriche e cutanee, tanto che ci fu un boom di vendite di farmaci destinati al trattamento di queste patologie nella provincia di Napoli. Nella provincia di Salerno, nello stesso periodo di tempo, non si registrò invece alcuna impennata né di questo genere di malattie né di vendita di farmaci atti a curarle, da qui si deduce che la colpa fu proprio dei rifiuti, anche perché sono stati esclusi altri fattori di rischio come cibi avariati e inquinamento atmosferico, prima di trarre queste conclusioni.
