Riciclare i cosiddetti elettrodomestici bianchi. E’ questa la nuova frontiera ecosostenibile del riciclaggio. Non solo plastica, carta, vetro ma anche frigoriferi, condizionatori, lavatrici e forni. Uno studio condotto dall’istituto Ambiente Italia, “Raee, il contributo del riciclo agli obiettivi di Kyoto” ha evidenziato i numerosi vantaggi derivanti dal corretto riciclo degli elettrodomestici bianchi. L’Italia, secondo quanto riportato dallo studio, con lo smaltimento delle apparecchiature elettriche ed elettroniche, oltre a recuperare enormi quantità di alluminio, ferro, rame, plastica, acciaio e vetro, riuscirebbe a ridurre ogni anno del 3% le emissioni di Co2. Inoltre, un corretto recupero dei Raee (rifiuti elettrici ed elettronici) favorirebbe un notevole risparmio energetico pari a circa 120 tonnellate di petrolio.
Smaltire gli elettrodomestici bianchi, ed in particolare i frigoriferi, consentirebbe di ridurre anche le emissioni nocive di clorofluorocarburi (CFC/HCFC), gas lesivi dell’ozono. Si pensi che un classico frigorifero domestico contiene circa 300 gr di CFC, quantità in grado di distruggere ben 9 tonnellate di ozono.
Il riciclo di un solo frigorifero -spiega Piero Moscatelli, presidente di Ecodom (Consorzio Italiano Recupero e Riciclaggio Elettrodomestici)- equivale al taglio dei consumi energetici di una persona per un anno intero. Catturando la quantita di CFC contenuta nei frigoriferi si dà un contributo consistente all’efficienza energetica del Paese e al taglio delle emissioni che alterano il clima. Senza contare i vantaggi della riduzione dell’impiego di territorio per le discariche e quelli che derivano dal recupero di materie prime riciclate nei processi produttivi.
In Italia, sono ancora molti i punti critici da risolvere per quanto riguarda il recupero dei Raee. Innanzitutto, deve entrare ancora completamente in funzione il nuovo sistema di riciclo e raccolta in vigore dal gennaio 2008. Infatti, anche se gli italiani pagano l‘eco-contributo Raee all’acquisto di un nuovo elettrodomestico, manca l’obbligo per i negozianti di ritirare il vecchio apparecchio elettronico. Inoltre, in Italia mancano le isole ecologiche necessarie alla raccolta ed è ancora poco sviluppata la pratica della raccolta differenziata.

a proposito di contributo raee desidero chiederVi una delucidazione.
E’ normale che a seguito di un acquisto di un nuovo elettrodomestico presso una grande e conosciuta catena distributiva, con pagamento di prezzo comprensivo di contributo raee mi sia stato richiesto il pagamento di 25 euro per il ritiro del vecchio usato? Tra l’altro, il ritiro lo ha fatto un ente (o consorzio?) che a sua volta rilascia la fattura per il ritiro del vecchio… è normale ciò?
Cioè mi chiedo, il contributo raee non è già la tassa per lo smaltimento dell’elettrodomestico sostituito e che pago sul prezzo di acquisto del nuovo? Io credo di no! Almeno leggendo la normativa non si evince l’esistenza di ciò che sembra un vero proprio “pizzo” per il ritiro del vecchio elettrodomestico!
Infine a quale autorità posso rivolgermi per poter denunciare questo fatto qualora fosse illegale?
