Siccome il Natale è diventata la festa più consumistica di tutte, proviamo a far diventare questa giornata (o meglio questo periodo) di sprechi, un pò più ecologica. Per farlo le regole sono molto semplici, e al primo posto c’è la raccolta differenziata, dato che è il periodo in cui si mangia di più (per chi può ancora permetterselo).
Ieri vi abbiamo parlato del riciclo della carta, ora vediamo come e perchè si deve riciclare il vetro. Una cosa che in pochi sanno è che, accanto alle bottiglie, flaconi e vasetti di vetro, ci sono tante cose che sono fatte di quel materiale, ma che non si possono riciclare, e per questo non vanno inserite nella cosiddetta “campana”. Stiamo parlando ad esempio dei vetri delle finestre, dei piatti e dei bicchieri, di tutti quegli oggetti che possono essere scambiati con il vetro, ma che in realtà sono porcellana, oppure i barattoli che prima contenevano vernice, in quanto edulcorati e non più utilizzabili.
Una volta che ci siamo accertati che il materiale che abbiamo tra le mani è vetro e rientra tra le cose riciclabili, bisogna prima di tutto togliere i tappi, dato che possono essere di plastica o di alluminio, ma mai di vetro. Questi andranno in un altro cassonetto. Dopodichè ci accingiamo a lavare il nostro contenitore, in quanto eventuali residui possono alterare il ciclo di riproduzione del vetro. Questo è tutto, due semplici regole, anche facili da ricordare. Ma perchè va riciclato il vetro?
Bisogna infatti sapere che il vetro è uno dei materiali più ecologici che ci siano, dato che può essere riutilizzato fino a 7 volte. Il motivo per cui è bene riciclarlo sta nel risparmio che questo comporta alla natura. Infatti per produrre un nuovo oggetto di vetro il fabbisogno di materiale viene dimezzato, perchè per metà lo fornisce la raccolta differenziata; la temperatura con cui lo si lavora è di gran lunga più bassa, circa un terzo, perchè non lo si deve formare dalla lega solita, ma avendolo già a disposizione, va soltanto fuso e rimodellato; di conseguenza anche le emissioni nell’atmosfera diminuiscono; ed infine ha molteplici fini. Infatti una bottiglia di vetro può diventare, dopo il processo di riciclaggio, un vasetto, che poi diventerà un barattolo, che continuando con queste operazioni potrebbe ritornare ad essere bottiglia. Un grande vantaggio da non gettare via, in tutti i sensi.

Hi there I am so thrilled I found your website, I really found you by mistake, while I was browsing on Yahoo for something else, Anyhow I am here now and would just like to say thanks a lot for a tremendous post and a all round exciting blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to go through it all at the minute but I have saved it and also added in your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read more, Please do keep up the awesome job.
