No slogan: l’eco-ottimismo ai tempi del catastrofismo, un titolo che è tutto un programma, quello scelto per l’instant book edito da Sangel, a cura di Mario Masi, giornalista ed esperto di tematiche ambientali, di Luigi Mariani, esperto di agrometereologia all’Università di Milano e di Teodoro Georgiadis, Senior Scientist del Cnr-Ibimet.
E’ un libro che si fa leggere con interesse, quando l’interesse per il dibattito climatico c’è ovviamente. L’ho divorato ieri pomeriggio in spiaggia in poche ore, a caldo. E ho trovato azzeccatissime le previsioni di Guido Guidi, meteorologo della corrente degli ottimisti, come si autodefinisce, espresse concisamente nella prefazione: No slogan non chiarisce le cose, le complica.
E ritornare ad affrontare il clima, questo sconosciuto così dibattuto oggi ovunque anche e soprattutto dai non addetti ai lavori, ricollocandolo nella giusta complessità e sfuggendo a semplificazioni controproducenti è un po’ il filo conduttore che anima queste pagine. Semplificazioni che danno origine a slogan che sono spesso alla base di una campagna mediatica volta a sensibilizzare la popolazione alle tematiche dell’ambientalismo, sulla scia di un salviamo il mondo che taglia corto sulle cause e i precedenti e si concentra sugli ipotizzabili effetti futuri devastanti, spesso escludendo e sottovalutando ricerche e dati che vanno controcorrente rispetto al diktat uomo cancro del Pianeta.
Partiamo proprio dall’uomo, sul banco degli imputati ormai da decenni, capo d’accusa il riscaldamento globale. Sembra ormai assodato che la sentenza sia sfavorevole al genere umano, ma ci sono abbastanza prove? L’accusa, portavoce del catastrofismo, pare ne abbia presentate anche di contraffatte, vedi Climategate.
La difesa, dal canto suo, si appella a dati ben più tangibili seppure con meno impatto emotivo su un’opinione pubblica che invoca a gran voce il disastro, richiamando prove concrete di analoghi stravolgimenti climatici anche in epoche passate, quando le attività industriali dell’uomo erano pressoché inesistenti. Mille anni fa le temperature erano infatti più alte tanto che sulle Alpi si coltivavano viti e olivi e i Vichinghi in Groenlandia piantavano cereali.
E’ chiamato a testimoniare anche il teste d’eccezione dello scioglimento dei ghiacciai: l’orso polare, tanto sfruttato dall’iconografia ambientalista, che afferma di essersi adattato benissimo, anche in passato, a temperature più calde.
Si dichiara parte civile la CO2, portatrice sana di vita (senza anidride carbonica la temperatura sulla Terra raggiungerebbe temperature troppo rigide per garantire forme viventi), indagata per effetto serra, che punta il dito contro il vapore acqueo, con le mani ancora sporche di sangue, che al momento esce dall’aula pulito e non si capacita di averla fatta franca.
Un processo di revisionismo che vede coinvolti anche il fenomeno della deforestazione, i modelli climatici, l’uso improprio dell’attributo globale per rilevazioni e rivelazioni a carattere parziale, la responsabilità enorme che si assume il catastrofismo, influenzando i governi a prendere decisioni di vitale importanza sulla base di previsioni prive di alcuna fondatezza scientifica. Il tutto nell’ottica di ricondurre la climatologia a basarsi su ricerche meno condizionate dall’ideologia, che si tratti di negazionismo piuttosto che di catastrofismo, e a ristabilire l’incertezza, trampolino di lancio della cono-scienza.
