Il famoso e sempre apprezzato Jeremy Rifkin, autore di numerosi libri di successo planetario, studioso e presidente della Foundation of Economic Trends, è di recente intervenuto al Politecnico di Milano durante il convegno Innovation and technology for a sustainable future. Per Rifkin non ci sono dubbi, la nuova economia può basarsi solo su rinnovabili ed ecosostenibilità.
Interessante intervento di Jeremy Rifkin a Milano, che ricorda nel modo più chiaro possibile che quando parliamo di sostenibilità ambientale parliamo anche di possibilità economiche, anzi dell’unica possibilità per una nuova economia.
Abbiamo assolutamente bisogno di una nuova visione economica: dobbiamo liberarci del carbonio e dei combustibili fossili nei prossimi 35-40 anni.
Dobbiamo assolutamente puntare sulle rinnovabili, con modalità chiare, trasparenti e avanzate. Il “mondo deve costruire la prima piattaforma intelligente” che possa integrare il web alla distribuzione energetica, e deve farlo in fretta dato che, come ormai è ben noto da tutti, i problemi ambientali che ci troviamo ad affrontare sono molto più gravi di quanto la politica, tendenzialmente, è disposta ad ammettere.
Ed ecco allora su cosa dovremmo puntare per una nuova esplosione economica, dal punto di vista energetico, secondo Rifkin:
sull’ammodernamento degli edifici, renderli autonomi e ‘positivi’ nei consumi energetici: tra 20 anni avremo molti milioni di edifici che produrranno energia, un mercato che avrà la stessa crescita esponenziale di quella avuta dai personal computer.
Sulla transizione verso le energie rinnovabili e pulite c’è poco da discutere, secondo l’esperto. Semplicemente, “non ci sono alternative”. Aggiunge Gianluca Spina, presidente del Mip Politecnico di Milano (promotore del convegno assieme a Assolombarda), che gli scenari anticipati e prefigurati da Jeremy Rifkin
sono inevitabili perché credo che il rischio di collasso del pianeta coincida con il rischio di collasso economico. Non ci potrà essere benessere senza sostenibilità: no green, no economy.
