Un fiume rosso sangue. Può sembrare il titolo di un film horror, ma purtroppo è la dura realtà che stanno vivendo i cinesi in questi anni. I livelli di inquinamento sono arrivati ad essere talmente insopportabili che, come detto anche su queste pagine, persino i giornali controllati dal regime hanno cominciato a lamentarsi. L’attenzione del mondo si è soffermata sull’inquinamento atmosferico, ma a fare paura ora c’è anche quello idrico. Le aziende producono in quantità stratosferiche materiali tossici che poi vengono sversati nei fiumi, e così il risultato è quello del Jian, uno dei tanti corsi d’acqua ormai avvelenati.
Ma il regime, si sa, tende a sminuire questi disagi e allora ecco la contromossa della società civile: pagare un alto dirigente affinché si faccia riprendere mentre fa il bagno nel fiume. Dopotutto se dicono che non c’è da preoccuparsi, che se lo facciano loro il bagno! La proposta arriva dall’imprenditore Jin Zengmin che ha offerto l’equivalente di circa 23 mila euro (più dello stipendio annuo di un operaio cinese) al capo della protezione ambientale della città di Bao Zhenming per fargli fare un bagno di 20 minuti nel fiume che passa lì vicino.
Questo corso d’acqua è uno dei più inquinati della Cina, nonchè tra i più noti proprio perché trasporta nel suo letto lanterne, lattine, carta ed altri rifiuti, nemmeno fosse una discarica, come ha dimostrato proprio Zengmin con delle fotografie pubblicate sul suo blog molto coraggiosamente, vista la rigorosa censura che vige nel Paese. Secondo lui le condizioni in cui si trova il fiume oggi sono attribuibili ad una fabbrica di scarpe di gomma che sversa lì dentro tutti i residui delle lavorazioni.
La risposta del dirigente ambientale non si è fatta attendere. Secondo lui (ovviamente) l’azienda non c’entra niente ma è colpa della gente se il fiume è così sporco. Alla fine della sua inutile e scontata dissertazione la conclusione era ovvia: l’offerta del bagno è stata rifiutata. Ad ogni modo una vittoria è stata ottenuta. Il Governo si è reso conto delle condizioni dei propri fiumi ed ha redatto una legge che obbliga le aziende a partecipare a programmi per il recupero dei fiumi e per scoraggiare il rilascio di rifiuti pericolosi in natura. Sarà sufficiente? Probabilmente no, ma è sempre meglio dell’immobilismo avuto fino ad oggi.
