Dopo il divieto dei fuochi d’artificio in gran parte delle regioni d’Italia a causa , non solo della pericolosità di alcuni botti, ma anche delle polveri sottili e dello smog che in diverse città del Nord non tendono a diminuire, arriva un’istantanea della qualità dell’aria del cielo di Capodanno. A monitorare i livelli di inquinamento provocati dai botti di fine anno sono le centraline dell’Arpa (Agenzia regionale per la protezione dell’ambiente) che in tempo reale registrano la presenza di particelle, metalli e molto altro, presenti nell’aria.
E’ stato provato che i fuochi d’artificio rilasciano nell’aria alluminio, zolfo, potassio, rame, piombo e altri materiali tossici. L’analisi dettagliata arriva dalle centraline Arpa della regione Lombardia che sono collocate in 151 punti strategici del territorio per avere un costante e sempre aggiornato stato della qualità dell’aria sopra Milano e le altre città lombarde. Come di consueto, ogni notte del 31 dicembre, le centraline registrano elevati livelli di piombo, alluminio, zolfo, rame, potassio, con un’impennata dei livelli di PM10. Come spiega l’Arpa
L’andamento dei valori orari di Pm10 registrato dalle stazioni della rete Arpa tra il 31 dicembre e il 1 gennaio evidenziano ogni anno un incremento delle concentrazioni di particolato in aria durante le ore notturne, con un picco dalla mezzanotte alle primissime ore del mattino
Il motivo, spiega il portavoce dell’Arpa
è individuabile nei botti di Capodanno i quali apportano un consistente, per quanto temporaneo, contributo alle concentrazioni di Pm10. Questo è dovuto sia al tipo di combustione, sicuramente non ottimale, sia alla composizione dei botti stessi.
L’ordinanza che vieta l’uso dei fuochi d’artificio per la notte del 31 dicembre servirà in parte a limitare i danni alla persone, spesso ferite anche in modo permanente per botti illegali e non sicuri, ma anche a limitare l’inquinamento dell’aria. Almeno, per una notte, i livelli di polveri sottili e lo smog non raggiungeranno picchi nocivi per noi e per l’ambiente.
