Cani e randagismo, proposte folli e buonsenso

Di solito ad Ecologiae non ci occupiamo di animali in senso stretto, se non in relazione a specie in estinzione a causa dei cambiamenti climatici e dell’inquinamento, ma questa volta una notizia ci ha talmente colpito, da volerla condividere con voi!

Ebbene con l’estate è noto che il fenomeno del randagismo aumenta, perché non tutti i padroni degli “amici a quattrozampe” hanno la saggezza e il cuore per non abbandonare il cucciolo che hanno allevato, con cura?! Per contrastare il fenomeno, oltre a campagne di sensibilizzazione, spot in tv, e cartelloni lungo le strade, sono nate molte associazioni, alcune anche onlus e gestite da volontari, per aiutare cani e cuccioli abbandonati, per accudirli e toglierli dalle insidie della strada.

Non tutti, evidentemente, vogliono risolvere il problema in questo modo. Certo, forse per evitare il randagismo si dovrebbe vietare l’allevamento dei cani, se non per razze speciali da utilizzare per scopi umanitari, come i cani-guida per i non vedenti, labrador o terravona per il salvataggio in mare, o cani lupo impiegati dalle forze armate. Eppure ad un consigliere regionale sardo è venuta un’altra idea, originale e alquanto opinabile

Davanti ad un’emergenza bisogna avere il coraggio di misure anche impopolari. Per affrontare il randagismo, in attesa di migliorare le strutture di accoglienza sarebbe opportuno incenerire i cani abbandonati.

Lascio a voi commenti e riflessioni. Ora vediamo invece i dati raccolti dall’Associazione Italiana per la Difesa di Animali e Ambiente (AIDAA). Togliendo i cani accolti in canile e quelli riconsegnati ai legittimi proprietari, sono stati 725.000 i cani abbandonati quest’anno. La regione che vanta il “primato” è la Puglia, con ben 120.000 animali lasciati lungo le strade, seguono Sicilia 115.000, Campania 110.000 e a parimerito Sardegna e Lazio 65.000. Ci sono anche regioni in cui i cani abbandonati sono stati “solamente” 1.000, in Valle d’Aosta e 2.000 in Friuli Venezia Giulia e in Trentino Alto Adige. Se le statistiche dicono che il fenomeno è in calo rispetto allo scorso anno, ad agosto 2010 si è registrato una diminuzione degli abbandoni canini del 36,4%, il randagismo non cessa e ogni giorno vengono abbandonati cani e cuccioli.

  21. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
