26 aprile 1986-26 aprile 2011. Ricorre domani il venticinquesimo anniversario del disastro nucleare di Chernobyl, un incidente che sconvolse per sempre l’Ucraina e il mondo. L’esplosione del reattore 4 della centrale procurò delle vittime nell’immediato, con conseguenze fatali per la popolazione, la flora e la fauna a breve, a medio ed a lungo termine. Ancora oggi si contano i danni, a distanza di decenni. Il rischio di tumore alla tiroide per i bambini delle vaste aree raggiunte dalla contaminazione radioattiva resta tutt’oggi altissimo e gli esperti sostengono che di Chernobyl chissà quante persone devono ancora morire. Molte sono già morte, nel peggiore dei modi possibili, vedi i liquidatori.

Il ricordo di quelle vittime ha una valenza morale oltre che storica perché va oltre il mero dato, il ricordo è partecipato dal sentimento di chi c’era e ha provato qualcosa: paura, dolore, rabbia, sgomento… di chi non c’era o era troppo piccolo ma è rimasto turbato da quello stesso racconto, dalle immagini, dalle testimonianze e vuole che Chernobyl resti solo un ricordo, che tragedie simili non abbiano più a ripetersi.

Spesso si è parlato di reazioni di pancia ad ostacolare il ritorno al nucleare italiano. Ma in fondo cos’è la paura, quella repulsione al pericolo che ci colpisce allo stomaco? Non necessariamente un freno allo sviluppo. A volte nasconde un istinto alla sopravvivenza sano, un timore logico e fondato che costruire centrali nucleari sul territorio italiano, martoriato dalle mafie, violentato da rischi naturali e non di ogni tipo, non costituisca propriamente una scelta sicura per il Paese.

E così il ricordo acquista anche un’altra valenza, ci insegna ad avere paura di quello che non riusciamo ancora (un giorno forse chissà) a prevedere e a gestire, ci insegna a cercare nuovi modi, più sicuri, di creare energia e ricchezza. Una centrale nucleare, chi può negarlo, è un obiettivo terroristico sensibile, è a rischio in caso di tsunami e terremoti di proporzioni non prevedibili, è a rischio da quando nasce e per decine e decine di anni… questa paura non è una fobia, irrazionale ed illogica, e nessuno scienziato sano di mente  definirà infatti il nucleare esente dal rischio di incidenti di una portata devastante e letale. E così, 25 anni dopo Chernobyl, al mondo, per difendersi, non resta altro che ricordare, un ricordo che si somma alla memoria recente di Fukushima e sembra dirci che la nostra pancia, a volte, non ci tradisce e non si sbaglia, ragiona bene e meglio, specie quando la paura è supportata da una mente che ha visto, che ricorda e che sa, anche dopo le recenti vicende in Giappone, che il nucleare può essere ancora estremamente pericoloso, travalicando i confini ed insidiando il mondo intero con le sue scorie, con le sue nubi, i suoi limiti, i suoi rischi evidenti.

Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
