I filosofi Caffo e Maurizi a confronto sul web in merito alle nuove etiche che prendono in considerazione il rapporto tra uomini e animali. In Italia continua a crescere, come anche altrove, l’attenzione dei filosofi per i rapporti tra gli uomini, gli animali, la natura. I pensatori dell’animalismo, o meglio, in termini filosofici, dell’antispecismo, crescono di numero e continuano a produrre riflessioni di grande interesse sulla questione del rapporto con gli altri esseri viventi: i due filosofi Leonardo Caffo e Marco Maurizi propongono oggi all’attenzione del pubblico un loro interessante dibattito in merito, pubblicato sulle pagine di Asinus Novus.
Molto vivace in Italia, soprattutto negli ultimi anni, l’aria che si respira nell’ambiente dei cosiddetti animal studies. Ne è una prova questa interessante e amichevole schermaglia tra due noti esponenti dell’antispecismo italiano, il filosofo, giornalista e scrittore Leonardo Caffo (Università di Torino), e il filosofo e scrittore Marco Maurizi (Università di Bergamo), sulla rivista online Asinus Novus. Al centro della discussione la nuova proposta di antispecismo debole da parte di Leonardo Caffo e le teorie filosofiche di antispecismo politico elaborate da Marco Maurizi. Due approcci differenti alla questione dell’antispecismo (concetto sviluppatosi a partire dalla metà degli anni 70), entrambi decisamente interessanti per tutti coloro che vogliono dare un’occhiata alle ultime teorie etiche formulate sul suolo italiano.
Il rispetto della vita animale come si collega al rispetto della natura? E al rispetto degli altri esseri umani? Al centro delle varie teorie resta sempre il rapporto di convivenza dell’uomo con ciò che è altro, in vista di una nuova etica in grado di stabilire un rapporto con ciò che ci circonda non basato sul sistematico sfruttamento e la sistematica distruzione dell’altro e di noi stessi.
Ma qual è la via migliore per riuscire a portare avanti una nuova etica antispecista? Quanto conta l’influsso della società capitalistica in cui viviamo, e come si inserisce il rapporto con la società nel discorso del rispetto degli altri esseri viventi? Caffo e Maurizi in questa interessante discussione sull’antispecismo danno le loro risposte, presentando idee e prospettive differenti alle menti dei lettori.
