Ambiente, Adotta un ulivo del Salento e salvalo dalla statale 16

pugliaNon sempre con la cementificazione le piante vengono distrutte e sdradicate, o almeno in questo caso si cerca di salvarle. Sono oltre 8.000 le piante secolari di ulivo in Puglia che dovranno essere espiantate entro la fine del mese per far posto al raddoppio della statale 16. Per ora solo 1.500 hanno trovato asilo e per le altre parte la mobilitazione sul web.

Il Comune di Otranto prenderà 500 degli 8.250 ulivi da espiantare per il raddoppio della statale 16, 1.000 km che dalla Puglia giungono in Veneto; altri alberi sono stati richiesti dai comuni di Maglie, Minervino, Uggiano, ma si raggiunge la cifra di 1.500, quindi ci sono più di 6.500 ulivi secolari da salvare e questo andrà fatto entro la fine di marzo perché, a detta degli esperti, è il periodo migliore per reimpiantare gli ulivi. Degli alberi solo 268 si salveranno di sicuro perché inseriti dal ministero dell’Ambiente tra gli alberi “monumentali” del Salento.

Da una parte il progresso, la miglioria dei servizi al cittadino e anche il lavoro: la Co.edi.sal del gruppo Palumbo si è aggiudicata l’appalto dell’Anas per 55 milioni di euro e questo vuol dure posti di lavoro e pagamento di stipendi arretrati; dall’altra la tutela dell’ambiente e del paesaggio. Le notizie sono molto contrastanti perché se da un lato alcune conferenze e pareri di esperti e il via del ministero dell’Ambiente che hanno decretato che la statale 16 si farà e che le piante trapiantate entro il 31 marzo saranno salve, dall’altro si denuncia che le piante saranno sacrificate al progresso e che anzi, molte di loro già sono state segate a metà. Alcuni esperti agronomi hanno dichiarato che non c’è giustificazione botanica per aver segato a metà i tronchi, e si palesa la presenza della mafia…insomma un’ennesima storia tutta italiana?
