sono liriche che la terra scrive sul cielo. Noi li abbattiamo e li trasformiamo in carta per potervi registrare, invece, la nostra vuotaggine. (Kahlil Gibran)

Belli, maestosi, possenti piuttosto che gracili, assetati ma pur sempre forti: gli alberi. L’ossigeno, la linfa, l’ombra, il ristoro, la casa, il fuoco, la vita, la bellezza. Eppure ci sono anche alberi che possono evocare il macabro, spaventarci perché somigliano tremendamente a qualcosa che ci scatena paure e timori ancestrali. Avete mai visto degli alberi spaventosi?

In giro per il mondo ce ne saranno sicuramente tanti e quelli che vi presentiamo sono solo alcuni tra quelli reputati più spettrali. Ma niente paura, sono solo alberi, oppure no?

Questo è un albero di mele che si trova a Montreal. Su di lui, a giudicare dalla strana forma, sembra essersi abbattuta l’ira degli dèi. Ricorda la sagoma di una persona con le braccia spalancate.

Questi due alberi invece sono intrecciati, quasi come in una danza di dominanza che incrocia indissolubilmente ed in un eterno tragico abbraccio il destino di due amanti.

Questo albero, alquanto inquietante, si trova al Mount Auburn Cemetery di Cambridge: come una croce svetta a guardia del cimitero e sembra vegliare e piangere con i rami i morti.

Sbarchiamo in Europa con questo albero-civetta che sicuramente fa sentire un tantino osservati. Si trova in Portogallo, esattamente nel Parque das Nações di Lisbona.

Simile alla coda di una sirena, questo albero si trova nella foresta pluviale australiana ma potrebbe trovarsi benissimo anche in mezzo al mare data la forma!

Questo albero si trova in North Carolina, sembra raffigurare uno schiavo di una vecchia nave negriera abbandonato sul percorso.

In Italia, per la serie alberi abbracciati ma stavolta tutt’altro che inquietanti, per chiudere con una foto che ispiri positività, mi è capitato di imbattermi in questi due pini giganti (Parco Nazionale della Sila, Calabria) che pare non possano fare a meno l’uno dell’altro nella loro corsa verso il cielo! E voi, avete visto alberi dalle forme strane nelle vostre escursioni?

Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
