Premettendo che il riciclaggio è sempre una cosa intelligente, ci sono metodi creativi che lo fanno sembrare ancora meglio di quanto non sia già. Alcuni vecchi autobus ormai inutilizzabili gettati tra i rifiuti di un cantiere in Israele hanno fatto la fortuna di una famiglia imprenditrice che vi ha ricavato un originale bed-and-breakfast.
Il Bed & Breakfast Zimmerbus, situato nel piccolo villaggio di Ezuz, ai piedi del Monte Negev, si trova su una collina che domina il deserto del Negev. Gli autobus in pensione sono stati coperti con foglie di palma e paglia a mò di tetto, per creare il miglior alloggio per i viaggiatori eco-consapevoli.
L’idea è venuta quando Eyal e Avigail Hirshfeld hanno recuperato un vecchio autobus cittadino, facendolo diventare la loro camera per gli ospiti. Dato che l’idea sembrava funzionare, hanno aggiunto altri due autobus a quello originale, in una sorta di fisarmonica, in modo da poter ospitare più famiglie. La famiglia Hirshfeld è cresciuta negli anni, ed ora comprende sei figli, i quali hanno cominciato ad occupare queste stanze, costringendoli ad “allargare l’albergo”.
Gli interni sono rustici e accoglienti. I soffitti sono rivestiti con assi di legno, e lo stesso legno è stato usato per le cornici dei letti a castello. I bagni delle unità appaiono sorprendentemente spaziosi, ed ogni autobus-camera ha una cucina con lavello completo, un piccolo frigorifero, forno a microonde, bollitore, pentole, piatti, utensili e posate, in modo da poter cucinare i pasti se lo si desidera.
Ma se volete una vacanza completa, è possibile ordinare colazioni e cene fatte in casa dai signori Hirshfelds che allevano nello spiazzo antistante il loro B&B capre e polli, producono il loro formaggio biologico, yogurt e pane. Le colazioni costano circa una decina di euro, e le cene a base di carne, che includono un bicchiere di vino, un po’ di più, mentre i pasti vegetariani sono più economici. I gestori offrono anche la pizza cotta nel forno di pietra, e i pasti per i bambini prevedono uno sconto del 60%. Inoltre, per continuare il proprio viaggio nella natura, la famiglia gestisce anche Exodia, una società che offre un safari nel deserto a dorso di cammello, asino o jeep.
